These are my fingernails. This is probably the longest they've ever been. They are manicured. I am very proud of them. As I mentioned in my 101 Things, I bite my nails until they bleed, and have never been able to grow them out. This does not stop me from trying every 6 months or so, by taking my omnipresent acrylics off and getting the flimsy real ones manicured, and swearing that this time I am really serious about it.
All those other futile attempts set aside, this time I am really serious about it. My plan is to post a picture of my nails on a regular basis, open for either praise or ridicule. I've heard it is a more difficult habit to break than smoking. They should make a patch for this.

I can't believe I'm the only one of the three of us who was able to really quit. (Give me some of your will power when it comes to portion control, and I'll give you some of mine when it comes to not biting.)
I bite my fingernails, too. My excuse is always that I don't want them to be too long since I play the piano, but hello? Isn't that why they make fingernail clippers?? J gets on to me when he sees me biting them, so that has helped me quite a bit.

Thanks for the encouragement ladies! And Rachel, I have no portion control will power whatsoever. Sorry to disappoint. I ate half a pan of 4-layer pudding dessert last night.
A friend of JEM and WIEBKE, I too am an acrylic nail fiend...BUT every other "full set required treatment" I get the acrylic overlay on my real nails....definitely not flimsy, (which mine are naturally) but still your nail.
