Since we had just invited a houseful of friends over for Greg's 30th birthday party, we decided to make this one more relaxed, more quiet, more family. Did I actually say relaxed and quiet and family in the same sentence? Do you know our families? Cousins galore, nephews eating 15 chicken nuggets each and then playing contact soccer in the backyard pausing occasionally to hold their stomachs, babies and toddlers everywhere, doting aunts, uncles, grandparents, and sisters taking all manner of photos of all the chaos, mountains of tissue paper, and half-eaten plates of food and cake on every solid surface. What a site! What a fun site!

The big cake, (which had a raspberry filling and was decorated to match the plates because I am a first-time mom), and the obligatory "Smash cake" for Noah (which came free when I purchased the big cake, because I am a first-time mom who's cheap).

This is the messiest my house has ever been. For once, though, I didn't even care! Listen to me, the martyr. I actually had to make myself not care so I could fully enjoy my kid's birthday. I swear I am Monica from Friends.

All the fabulous presents he got and he loved the tissue paper most!

Calling all parents, pinatas are the best birthday game ever. Your husband gets to be in charge and all the kids remember for weeks that your party allowed them to hit things and get candy. This is nephew Numero Uno.

Nephew Numero Dos.

Bye Bye!

Adorable! What great pictures!
And I want to know how you keep your house so clean, it looked immaculate by my standards!
Happy Birthday from one OCD Mom to another ;) ... and the second year goes even faster, if you can believe it!
Happy Birthday little Noah! Glad you guys had a good time - we miss you guys! Any chance you're coming to Ohio anytime soon?
Noah's bday is the same day as my grandmas, but she turned 75 this year. Ok Monica, I love how the cake matched the plates. I would have done the same thing. I didn't think about getting a "Smash Cake" though. Pinatas---great idea. Happy Birthday Noah!!!!!!!!!
What's a stomach fly? =)
I cannot believe your son is like standing and walking and looking like a BOY. A big-boy BOY. Waaa.
I love Jenn's face in the one of Trey hitting the pinata. That is SO mom. =)
Happy Birthday Noah!!! He definitely looked like he felt much better for this party:)
Hope your birthday was wonderful, Noah!! What a big boy you are!
Glad you're all healthy again. Stomach stuff has to be THE WORST.
Very cute. I loved that the cake matched the napkins. We did that for my mom's 60th birthday. :)
